More info
Thyreotom Forte (Levothyroxine) is a naturally occurring hormone produced by the thyroid glands. Unfortunately in some cases the thyroid glands cannot produce enough Levothyroxine needed by the body. That is when use of the Levothyroxine drug is prescribed. The Levothyroxine drug is commonly called Synthroid. Aside from the treatment of hormone deficiency, Synthroid can also be used to treat the enlargement of the thyroid glands also known as goiter. Synthroid has also been used to treat thyroid cancer. Levothyroxine has a narrow therapeutic index and requires careful dosage titration to avoid the consequences of over- or under-treatment. Many drugs interact with levothyroxine sodium. Hence it is necessary that regular adjustments be made in dosage of Synthroid to maintain therapeutic response. Thyreotom Forte Side Effects Common side effects produced by Synthroid include fatigue, increased appetite, weight loss, heat intolerance, fever & excessive sweating. Certain patients may also experience headaches, hyperactivity, nervousness, anxiety, irritability, emotional ability, insomnia. In rare cases, Synthroid has been found to lead to impaired fertility and even cardiac arrest. Thyreotom Forte Dosage.
